Fall has Arrived

The Sugar Maple out front has gone through an amazing transformation in the past week. Its leaves have turned bright orange, yellow and red. And for some strange reason, the leaves are leaping from the tree and falling to the ground! Now these fallen leaves are great fun to romp about in, but I'm worried. Isn't the tree cold without a leaf-jacket? And some of the Norway Maple and Dogwood leaves are turning orange yellow and red too. What could possibly be next - all of the trees losing their leaves?!? What a curious sight that would be!

Sunday morning we went to Ramsey's Farm and picked 4 orange pumpkins, 3 ears of corn with yellow, red and blue kernels, and 1 gourd that looks like a chunky green swan. Daddy said that we will be "carving" the pumpkins. If that means what I think it does, then I want mine to look like... NEMO(R)! After our trip to the farm, we came home and played in a big pile of Sugar Maple leaves. And then I made some finger-paintings outside with Mommy. The finger-paint did not taste very good, but looked good on my construction paper. And clothing. And hair. And face. Etc. Before we went inside, we posed by the front door for a family shot, but my smiler had quit working by then, because I was ferociously hungry for dinner. Of course, MORE PICTURES HERE... of me with my pumpkins and cavorting in the leaves. Enjoy! Love, Isabel
